Neelam Point .09

Same day, our second point was Neelam Point. It is just along the Kashmir Border.

We heard that Kashmir Point is a better place, but I didn’t find it much of a treat for myself. I’m not a big fan of water and especially cold water so it was as boring for me as nothing else. What I did enjoy was when the waiter told us the menu. With a lot of other dished I believe what I heard was “Choocha Masala”, I was very curious to know what that is because the name was funny. I asked him what’s in Choocha Masala, he said it’s Chicken. :-D that was the only funny thing that happened there. We laughed and laughed all day refereeing chicken as “Choocha”.

These are some pictures from the stream of water, we sat there for a while with our feet in cold water had a couple of drinks and Chaat.

The driver mentioned that a couple of years back he brought a family here, a husband his wife and three kids. They were playing throw ball when the ball went into the water. The husband tried to read for the ball in the water, lost his balance and fell in. The driver said he warned him that the place where he was playing was dangerous and the water seems shallow but it is very fast. Almost no one has been recovered from these waters alive. In fact the bodies flow and keeps on flowing and are recovered from Dariya-e-Jehlum. The dad fell in and his body was never recovered. He also mentioned that dead bodies are often found flowing in these waters, he told that the killing is done in Kashmir and the bodies are thrown in these waters to get rid of the bodies.

It was quite freaky to listen to all what he said plus as I said I’m not a fan of water, so we decided to move on to our next point.

But one thing I should mention, it is a good place for people who really enjoy water. There is a Y-shaped stream of water, one side is the dangerous water but the other half of the Y is totally safe, the water is slow you can see the rocky bottom and its much far from the other half of the Y. You can enjoy your trip if your personality agrees with it.
