Lower Topa .10

A good great disappointment! Here are some pictures.

It wasn’t a place to visit, it wasn’t a place to even stop and think of it as it is somewhere we should take a picture. It was like we were being fooled by the taxi driver as a ‘Point’ to visit. Probably it was amusing for them, but for someone from Karachi! Hell I mean, I went to the PIA Planetarium when I was like 4 years old!

All you can see is a fighter jet placed with a description of what is it.

If you happen to pass by this point, just pass by!

Update: March, 2009: That's something I've never done before in my life - changing a post after almost a year since it was posted.

Guys, I just wanted to let you know that I, in no way mean to degrade this place Lower Topa. All I wrote was in a tone of tourism, as a tourist and for a tourism spot in Pakistan, that's all. I do not mean to make fun of or look down upon Lower Topa as I am well aware of the fact that it is also a home to the people living there. I know how insulting it could be for people to read about their home town in such words, but notice that I only mean in terms of tourism. Maybe if I were living there for at least a week or so, I could write about it in a more detailed way and I could have seen how wonderful the place is. But the point is I spent less than 30 minutes there, I didn't see anyone else there other than us at the time we were there.

All I am saying is that I did not find it such an attractive point as a tourism point compared to all the other places I had been in that trip, I am certainly not trying to portray it as a hideous place for living, it must be a wonderful place for living.

I do not live there so I am not able to highlight all the good points, why not you guys pitch in with something worth sharing to the world about Lower Topa?

It would be great to hear from you guys -the locals from Lower Topa than from someone who spent less than 30 min there :)

For you it might be nothing but for the student who have lived here has been an inspiration and has turned us into better men. Do not judge the book by its cover. Rashid Minhas Shaheed was one of the students here and so was I.

DJ

My answer would be: I'm not denying the importance of anything at any specific location. Just consider the fact that someone paid a lot for a tour and it turn out to be something of this sort.

Now by saying "this sort" I mean that it is something that requires the knowledge of history and the events that took place. Consider it a comment from someone who has 2 days and have 6 or 7 places to visit from Islamabad to Muree and nearby areas.

Anyway, by the end, I would just like to say that I did not mean to disrespect any area or a set of people in a specific locality. If you feel offended, then kindly ignore :)
